Featured protection

Mold, mycotoxins & wildfire smoke

Wildfire smoke

Wildfire smoke contains extremely small particles. Austin Air states that the HealthMate Plus Medical Grade HEPA removes up to 99% of pollutants larger than 0.1 microns, while its carbon blend addresses gases, chemicals, VOCs and formaldehyde.

Mold spores

Airborne mold spores may cause runny nose, watery eyes, coughing and sneezing, and may aggravate asthma. Medical Grade HEPA is designed to remove mold spores suspended in the air.

Mycotoxins

Some molds can produce mycotoxins. Austin Air recommends the HealthMate Plus for damp environments because its carbon and zeolite blend helps address airborne mycotoxins while HEPA captures mold spores.

Important limitation

An air purifier can reduce airborne particles and gases, but it does not remove the source of mold or replace professional remediation, medical advice, or emergency smoke guidance.
